PUBLIC PETITION FROM 2022 – FORGOTEN BY THE CURREND FMJD/EDC LEADERS
The Issue
Tamara Tansykkuzhina is the women’s world champion of international (100) draughts. Many of us have treated Tamara very respectfully as an outstanding athlete and draught’s player. She has been a role model for many female draughts players including the younger generations of girls.
On the 24th February Russia has invaded Ukraine and started a war. On a daily basis all of us observe the terror, war crimes, fascism and genocide of the Ukrainian people in the news. Those countries around Ukraine also receive continuous open threats to be invaded by Russia.
Tamara is a member of and holds a high position in the political party “United Russia” which supports Putin. In Tamara’s Telegram channel she openly supports and agitates for this “special operation” on a continuous basis since the start of the war. The aim of the “special operation” is to denazify Ukraine. In Tamaras posts, shared videos we see “Z” signs which is half of the swastika symbol that Hitler used. These actions in the Western society would be legally considered not only criminal but terrorist.
Many of us these days are trying to help Ukraine. We donate money, participate in draughts tournaments supporting Ukraine. We volunteer in charities, provide accommodation and any other help to refugees but also sincerely feel for the people in Ukraine who are suffering and being killed every minute. Our friends draughts players in Ukraine post photos of children playing draughts in shelters on social media while the world champion openly supports this ‘special operation’.
The military actions of Russia and support from Belarus are committing genocide of the people in another country. Tamara has been contacted by the draughts players trying to explain what the real situation in Ukraine is. There has been no response and more war supporting public posts followed.
Thus with this petition, we condemn the anti-human actions of Tamara Tansykkuzhyna we request the FMJD to ban Tamara Tansykkuzhyna from participating in any FMJD tournaments for indefinite time.
Please sign and share this petition with your draught’s contacts in any country you live in. Use the social media. Together we can make an impact even though it is small to stop this war from spreading and discontinue the suffering of Ukrainian people and our friends draughts players who live in conditions every day where they have to fear for their own and the lives of their families.
The actions of world champion damage the reputation of FMJD and reputation of draughts. This petition will be sent to the FMJD ethics committee.
